MARGO ABDO O'DELL presents Elena Lentini in a Dance Workshop and Performance May 3rd-4th, 2003
Elena Lentini brings to dance a unique lyrical focus, a quality of mystery, and a commitment to the integrity of every movement as she sculpts fluid designs with her body. Watching her is like being part of some ancient ecstatic ceremony, mysterious, sensual, passionate, and profound. For three decades Elena has taught and performed throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and, most recently, Australia and South Africa.
As a principal dancer and soloist with the renowned Ibrahim Farrah's Near East Dance Group (and with her own companies), Elena has performed in most major American concert halls, including the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Yale Repertory Theater, Boston's New Life Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where her ballet, "Hand of Fatima", was presented at the acclaimed Next Wave Festival.
